Tapt Kund is a naturally heated water spring that flows right in front of the Badrinath Temple. The name comes from Sanskrit: Tapt means “hot,” and Kund means “pond.” Geothermal energy warms the water year-round, even when snow blankets the surrounding peaks. The pool maintains a temperature of around 45–50°C (113–122°F), making it comfortably warm for a soothing bath.
